In 1996 Steven and Rosemary Harsey, founders of Orient Express Silk Collection, realized the need to create a high-end exclusive fabric line to compliment the hand woven silk line for which the name Orient Express was synonymous. Several trips to Europe led to discovery of some unique weaving mills in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and Belgium. Working with our exclusive designs from leading artists around the world and with the mill’s own archives, new patterns and colors are constantly being created to separate our collection from the large mass-market distributors. The collection continues to grow as Steven and Rosemary travel the world looking for that special piece of art, a wonderful new textile construction, and new fashion leading colors to set the trends, not just follow them.
